Hi-Tec Urges Participation in US National Trails Day

Hi-Tec Sports USA reminds Americans that Great Outdoors Month kicks off Saturday, June 6, 2015 when thousands of Americans are expected to turn out for U.S. National Trails Day.

In 2014, 144,000 people explored trails at 2,113 events throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada on National Trails Day. More than 21,000 volunteers pitched in on hundreds of projects that helped maintain 1,360 miles of trails, providing a sweat equity value of $2.3 million worth of work. The cumulative distance hiked was 284,000 miles, or the equivalent of walking eleven times around Earth.

Hi-Tec in February announced an exclusive partnership with American Hiking Society (AHS), the only national non-profit dedicated to protecting the places you hike. AHS encourages all types of Americans to get motivated to participate in outdoor recreational activities, specifically hiking and National Trails Day.

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to sponsor such a wonderful tradition,” said Ian Little, Director of Marketing and eCommerce at Hi-Tec Sports. “Hi-Tec is happy to donate a portion of the sales of the Altitude V hiking boot in 2016 to the American Hiking Society.”

“We are excited about our new partnership with Hi-Tec,” said Greg Miller, American Hiking Society President. “Hi-Tec boots are perfect for a variety of hiking trails and the generous sponsorship of National Trails Day will allow us to raise awareness of the benefits of hiking and work to conserve more parks and trails across America.”

Great Outdoors Month is a national campaign to entice more Americans to venture outside. For information on your local trails or National Trails Day celebrations, visit
